Photograph Notes: I love this image of a poppy
which I found growing wild in the pastures of San Juan Island while
hiking cross-country. The brightness in the petals, coupled with the
fragility of the petals, exudes a sense of life. One thing that makes
this photo work for me is that the extraordinary bright red colors of
the flower stand out so sharply against the brown gray background. (Compare
this with the infrared light photograph.)
