Photograph Notes: The Pearl Geyser, in the Norris geyser
basin, is not one of the larger geysers as it just pops up no more than
2-3 feet -- but it was consistently erupting every 30 seconds or so
which allowed for a bit of trial and error in getting an exposure that
was interesting. In this image, I brought my camera almost down to
ground level and had to guess whether it was level or not. Altogether,
this is a bit of a 'postcard' photograph although I really like the
contrast of the water as the geyser bubbles up against the clouds. (August of 2005.)
