Photograph Notes: While hiking on our first day in
Yellowstone, we saw a herd of bighorn sheep moving down the ridge about
fifty yards to our right. After watching four or five of these animals
taking the same trail, I decided to get closer. While the nearest of
these animals was probably 100 yards away, I moved to stand behind a
tree that was maybe 20-25 yards away from the rough path that they had
all been taking. Sure enough, about two minutes later, the next of these
bighorn sheep walked by. I'm sure he saw me but it didn't seem to bother
him. The result was a very sharp photograph. (August of 2005.)
